LP Miller grade 8 students were divided into 9 groups and visited sessions throughout the morning. The sessions were instructed by student leaders from Wagner grade 5 and Bjorkdale Grades 7,8,9. The students had researched traditional information and created the materials required to implement the activities for the LP Miller students. The sessions included Hoop Dancing, One Loom Bead Bracelet, Worry Doll, Stick and Ball game, Feather Toss and Spear Throwing, Stick Dance and Running Challenge, Stick Pull and Leg Wrestling. The students also had Bradley Ironstar share his teachings of the hand drum and Harriet Burns sharing her life experience of living on the trap line and teaching the students about snaring. It was a beautiful day of sharing and learning traditional games and activities from our knowledge keepers – new and experienced!
