Star City Students Learning Outside the Classroom

November 04, 2015

Regina Trip 1 (3).jpgOn October 29th students in grades 3-6 travelled to Regina to visit the Saskatchewan Science Centre and the RCMP Heritage Centre. At the Science Centre the students had time to explore the various exhibits and experience many hands on learning opportunities, which they greatly enjoyed. They also got to watch an IMAX film called To the Arctic 3D. This was a new experience for many and left everyone laughing as the students, as well as the teachers, dodged ice pellets and grabbed for floating material during the film. At the RCMP Heritage Centre the students watched the Sergeant Major's Parade and did a scavenger hunt in the museum. They then got to dress up in a red serge for some pictures. The classes finished their day by watching the film Courage in Red, which explained a cadet's time at depot. It was a long, but very enjoyable day for all!
