June 1, 2020
Dear NESD Families,
I would like to thank you for continuing to stay connected to the North East School Division (NESD) since the time that classes were discontinued due to COVID-19.
I would like to recognize the support that families provide those who chose to participate in the supplemental learning curriculum offered by the school division since March 30, 2020.
Last week a link to a survey was distributed to families. I am happy to share a summary report of what we heard from families: https://my.thoughtexchange.com/report/f364217d58232396e6e54265785b7311.
The survey summary has been shared with the Board of Education and school principals. We thank you for the appreciative comments and the honest feedback on the challenges presented by supplemental learning during the pandemic.
We will endeavor to stay connected with students and families in June and to provide the best supplemental learning possible during this time. The last day of instruction for supplemental learning will be June 19, 2020. High school students completing new classes will have an additional week of time to submit assignments. Report cards will be emailed at the end of June.
In the upcoming weeks we will be provided direction on plans for school re-opening as the province proceeds through the phases of Re-open Saskatchewan. More information about the 2020-2021 school year will be provided to families from the NESD as soon as it becomes available.
Sincerely,

Don Rempel
Director of Education
