All Kids want to express themselves. Creative Kids gives them the chance. Our program removes or reduces financial barriers to arts and cultural activities for Saskatchewan kids ages 4 to 19 to help enable them participate in art, drama, music, dance and other cultural activities.
We provided out first grant to a little girl who wanted to learn to dance in the fall of 2010. To date, we have granted over $3.8 million and helped more than 8,500 kids in more than 220 communities across Saskatchewan explore their creative dreams through inclusion in arts and culture activities.
May 29 2020 application deadline update
With all the changes due to COVID-19, we wanted update anyone who has endorsed a Creative Kids application. The May 29 2020 application deadline will be similar to other (pre-COVID-19) deadlines.Families can apply for summer activities or early fall registrations as they have in the past. There will also be an August 14 application deadline for fall activities.Applicants will know the results of their applications by June 30, 2020. Families should note that while an application may be funded, government health regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic will dictate how activities are offered. This could mean the initial activity needs to be cancelled, postponed, offered online, or adapted to limited in-person participants with physical distance and safety precautions. It is best for families to speak with their intended activity provider as to if and how lessons will be offered to ensure they are comfortable with any COVID-19 precautions. Service providers and families would be expected to adhere to the Government of Saskatchewan guidelines and should not do anything that feels unsafe. Please email with any questions. Stay safe and have a great weekend. ShawnShawn BaucheProgram Coordinator
