Carmen GrantInducted 2012 – EntertainmentCarmen Grant has taken the stage for 16 years in theatres across Canada with notable productions at the Neptune Theatre in Nova Scotia, the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, the Manitoba Theatre Centre, London’s Grand Theatre and Nanaimo’s Theatre One.  Carmen has performed on television, film and radio.  Her flexibility as an actor and her passion for portraying human struggle and triumph has led to a myriad of memorable performances including Gandalf the Wizard, Shakespeare’s Lady Macduff, Lady Capulet and King Richard III, Annie Sullivan in William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker, and the 21 roles in Pamela Gien’s play the Syringa Tree.Professional Training and Career Highlights:Dean’s Honor List and Graduate of Mount Royal College 1996National Theatre School of Canada 2002David Tuer Scholarship (National Theatre School of Canada)Dora Mavor Moore Acting Nomination (The Miracle Worker)ATP Rising Star (Zadie’s Shoes)Merritt Award (The Syringa Tree)Stratford Shakespeare Festival Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Training 2010-2012Tyrone Guthrie Award 2012 (National Theatre School of Canada)Carmen is preparing for the lead role of Isabella in the play “Measure for Measure” in the Stratford Festival’s 2012 season.  While away from the stage, Carmen enjoys gardening, cooking for friends, impromptu riverside picnics, riding her vintage bicycles and reading.
