Grade 2 June 9

June 08, 2020

Tuesday, June 9thth: Daily Learning Plan for Grade 2

Please be sure to contact your teacher on Remind if there are any questions.

ELA
1. Reading. We would like you to go to the Classroom Pages on the CPES website Go to grade two, ELA, Raz Kids. Look in the space ship called My Assignment. We would like you to listen to the story Giant's Tale. Don't forget to read the Glossary at the end of the book.

When you are done reading the story, talk about the plot. What happened in the story? Think about three parts of the story, beginning, middle and end. Try to write one good grade 2 sentence for each part. You will have three sentences that start with an upper case letter, end with punctuation and are seven or more words long.

2. Word Skills: Silly Sentences This week we would like you to use your spelling words to print five sentences that tell something silly and five sentences that ask a silly question. Try to make them interesting with 7 or more words in each sentence. (You can print sentences with all the words if you would like to make 20 sentences)

Example: Did you see all the people hanging in the trees?
Long List (20 words to know): play, the, friend, went, don't, said, they, funny, can't, like, teacher, grade, this, school, what, when, today, that, something, people

Short List (consonant digraphs "ch", "sh"): chin, shut, fish, rich, lunch

3. Reading: your goal is to read for at least 20 minutes each day (choose any story from your books at home, EPIC or Raz-Kids)
MATH
1 Workbook-continue to work on the next two pages (wherever you are in the workbook).

2. Math Subtraction-copy these 5 questions onto a paper and see if you can subtract the numbers to find the difference (answer).
