Tuesday, May 26th: Daily Learning Plan for Grade 2

Did you make a S'more yesterday?
1. Reading. We would like you to go to the Classroom Pages on the CPES website Go to grade 2, ELA, Raz Kids. Look in the space ship called My Assignment. We would like you to listen to the story Bonk, the Healthy Monster Don't forget to read the Glossary at the end of the book.

We will play a game called Roll and Chat
You will take turns rolling a die and then answering the questions about Bonk, the Healthy Monster. Object of this game is to be the first person to answer each question.

If you roll a:
One      What is your favourite part of the story and why?
Two      What is your favourite illustration and what does it show?
Three   Pick two characters and tell how they are the same and different.
Four     What is the setting of this book?
Five      What happened at the end of the story?
Six       Did you learn any lessons from the story? Tell about what you learned.
2. Word Skills: This week we would like you to print a sentence with a spelling word and print another sentence with the "root" word. See the example. Try to make them interesting with 7 or more words in each sentence. Can you do this with at least 5 of the spelling words?
Example:   unwrap - He will unwrap the brightly coloured gift.
                 wrap – I can wrap the baby in a soft blanket. 
-Long List (prefixes: "un", "re"): -unhappy, unsafe, unable, unfair, uncover, reread, rewrite,       review, replace, refresh
-(Bonus words): unexpected, unusual, rediscover, rearrange
-Short List (consonant blends): slip, clam, flag, blink, floss
3. Reading: your goal is to read for at least 20 minutes each day (choose any story from your books at home, EPIC or Raz-Kids)
MATH
1 Workbook-continue to work on the next two pages (wherever you are in the workbook).

2. Math Adding-copy these 5 questions onto a paper and see if you can add the numbers to find the sums.
