Thursday, May 7th, 2020: Grade Two Daily Learning Plan

1. ELA: Re-read Flying Kites on Raz Kids. On a piece of paper, write down these 4 questions and answer them in full sentences.

            a) List the 4 main characters in the story Flying Kites.

            b) Who flew up and up with the kite?

            c) Do you think the Hoppers should have gone out to fly kites? Why?

            d) Tell about a time when you went outside on a windy day.

2. Word Skills: Cross word fun again! Have fun matching these "clues" to your list words.

3. Reading: your goal is to read for at least 20 minutes each day (choose any story from your books at home, EPIC or Raz-Kids)

4. MATH – Card Game - Memory

Use decks of playing cards with tens and face cards removed. Place 3 rows of four cards face down on the table. Players turn over two cards at a time. Two cards match if they add to 10. If cards match, they get placed in the discard pile; otherwise, the cards get turned face down again and continue playing. After all the pairs are found, play again by shuffling the cards and placing new ones on the table.

Math Facts – continue to practice using your cards (these should be automatic).
