Friday, May 1st: Daily Learning Plan for Grade Two

1. Re-read Robert Munsch story Mud Puddle read it yourself and see the pictures on Epic
(Re-reading helps children further develop their reading skills, vocabulary and confidence)
Ask your parents first! Go for a walk in a puddle or the mud. Find objects to float in the water or things to stick into the mud to create a masterpiece. (sticks, stones, leaves) Send your teacher a photo or a hand drawn picture of yourself outside.
2. Word Skills: Have someone say your spelling words, as you print them on a piece of paper ("long a" words and st words)
Long List (long "a"): braid, rain, snail, plain, plane, fade, crate, today, relay, maybe
(bonus words: migrate, display, maintain)
Short List (st): fast, step, stick, test, stop
Take a picture of your test paper using the camera on Remind and send it to your teacher if you like. We would love to see how you are doing.
Card Game: Use your deck of cards to play any game you are familiar with.
Maybe - Memory, Go Fish, Solitaire
Math facts- using your flashcards (that you've already made in the past few weeks), shuffle your cards and practice these facts. Challenge yourself: time yourself for one minute, see how many facts you can do correctly. Shuffle your flashcards and try it again, timing yourself for one minute. Which facts do you still need to practice? Remember: all of these facts should be almost automatic.
