Thursday, April 9th: Daily Learning Plan for Grade Two

Snowman construction-in your yard, build a snowman. Don't forget to "decorate" it. Be creative with your design materials (ex. milk carton lids for eyes, toilet paper roll for the nose, paper bag for a hat, etc.)
Take a picture of you with your snowman. Please send this picture to your teacher on Remind. (This is a trial to find out how well this camera feature works for families).
Journal entry topic: describe your snowman. Tell about what materials you used to make it, what its' name is and why, how long it took you to build, and anything else interesting about it.
Try to write 6 or more sentences, and don't forget your picture at the end. Use your dictionary to help with spelling or underline the words that you aren't sure of. Remember to use capitals and punctuation.
EPIC/Raz-Kids – listen to any story (your choice)
Monday's journal entry: please read aloud (what you wrote on Monday) and record it on Remind. (This will be a trial to find out how well the record feature works for families).
Math facts-create your own flashcards. Using any stiff paper from home (ex. an empty cereal box, Kleenex box, back of an old duotang), cut out small squares (about 5cmX5cm) and print the question on the front side and the answer on the back. Make cards for all addition and subtraction facts for 10, 11, and 12. (The example below is only two of the flashcards for 12.)
